History of Ascot Racecourse

Did you know?

When Queen Anne of England opened the Ascot Racecourse in 1711, she did not imagine that this geographical point of Berkshire County was about to become the quintessence of the British, that perfect combination of tradition, royalty and extravagance. And that is what has happened throughout its 306 years of history.

In these three centuries, the Ascot races – which are held in mid-June, always starting on a Tuesday and ending on a Saturday – have always marked the beginning of the summer social season in England, which awakens to the warmest months of the year with This equestrian event, the Henley Royal Regatta and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

Next July 29th, our beloved Sixties Song will participate for the first time an Argentine horse in the race King George VI in Ascot, England. Schedule! Source: Vanity Fair Magazine http://ow.ly/A7IW30bzteq
